Modern musicals owe much of their inspiration to the works of W.S. Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan. Hummable tunes, topical dialogue and grand pageantry (not to mention lots of sailors, pretty young maidens and not-so-nasty pirates/villains) were the hallmarks of these two giants of the English musical stage. This light and colourful play will introduce you to all of the musical components in musical comedy.
